Motion Passed October 13, 2025

At our recent Druid Hills Civic Association (DHCA) Board meeting, the following motion was passed to convey our collective position regarding the modernization of Druid Hills High School. We are sharing it for your awareness and collaboration as community conversations continue with the DeKalb County School District.
Passed DHCA Motion:
The DHCA thanks the DeKalb County School District for their efforts to explore options for providing modern facilities for the Druid Hills High School (DHHS) cluster and for engaging the community in this endeavor. We also thank the District for developing a modernization plan that keeps within the existing DHHS property boundaries.
Based on input from Druid Hills residents, we request that a plan be developed to renovate and modernize DHHS to 1600 seats in its current location. We request that any plan which requires expansion beyond the existing property boundaries be considered only if a voluntary agreement can be reached with neighboring properties.
We appreciate your continued partnership and support for our neighborhood schools and students.
Kindest regards,
Harriett Lane, Chair
Druid Hills Civic Association
